When You Carry Pain No One Else Sees

Relationship Coaching

There have been moments in my life where, from the outside, everything looked fine.

I was moving.                                                                                                                                        Smiling.                                                                                                                                          Functioning.                                                                                                                                          Showing up.

But inside… I was carrying more than anyone could see. Pain has a way of doing that.

It doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it lives quietly in the body-held in the muscles, tucked into the breath, stored in the spaces we don’t even realize we’ve tightened.

I’ve carried many forms of it. The kind that comes from physical trauma-like breaking my back, or learning to move again after my body was forced to slow down. The kind that comes from emotional wounds-feeling unseen, excluded, or misunderstood. And the kind that is harder to name… the experiences you don’t always speak about, but that shape how safe you feel in the world. What I’ve learned through all of it is this:

You can be surrounded by people… and still feel completely alone in what you’re carrying.

There was a time when I thought I had to push through everything, to keep going, stay strong, and to not make it a big deal. But the body doesn’t work that way. It holds. It remembers. And eventually… it asks to be listened to. That’s where everything began to change for me. Not when I found answers. Not when someone told me what to do. But when I found moments-sometimes with another person, most times walking with my pooch down quiet cottage country roads-where I felt safe enough to just be with what was there. No fixing. No analyzing. No rushing it away. Just space.

Through my own experiences, and through developing what has now become the Life In Motion Method, I started to understand something deeply: When the body feels safe, the truth begins to surface.

Not all at once. Not in a way that overwhelms. But gently. A thought becomes clearer.

A feeling softens just enough to be noticed. A breath deepens without force. And in those small shifts, something powerful happens-You begin to hear yourself again.

This is the foundation of what we create through Oblige Your Soul. Not a place where you are told who to be. Not a space filled with pressure to change or perform healing. But a space where you can arrive exactly as you are… and be met there. Because sometimes, what you need isn’t advice.

Sometimes what you need is:

To say the thing you’ve been holding in

To feel without being judged

To sit in silence with someone who isn’t trying to fix you

To let your body soften, even just a little

There is something profoundly regulating about being truly heard.

I’ve felt it myself. And I’ve seen it in others. When that happens, the nervous system begins to settle. The mind becomes less crowded. And what once felt overwhelming starts to feel… workable. The shifts aren’t always dramatic. They’re often quiet. But they matter.

It might look like:

feeling a little lighter in your body

understanding something about yourself you couldn’t access before

finding words for emotions that used to feel stuck

trusting your own inner voice again

making a choice that actually feels aligned

For me, learning to listen-to my body, to my breath, to what I had been holding-changed everything. It didn’t erase what I had been through. But it gave me a way to move with it… instead of against it.

And that’s what Oblige Your Soul is really about. Honouring what is real for you. Giving it space.

Letting it be seen. Because when pain is no longer hidden, something else has room to emerge-

Your strength.

Your clarity.

Your truth.

If you’ve been carrying something quietly…You don’t have to carry it alone. Not here.

If you’re feeling the pull to not carry this alone anymore, this is the kind of space we hold inside Oblige Your Soul.

Through our Life Coaching, and my Life In Motion Method – a body-based approach rooted in awareness and presence – we offer a place where you can begin to reconnect with yourself gently, honestly, and at your own pace.
